Nikki Haley on Tuesday said she would force social media companies to end anonymity online, to combat hate speech. Her opponents derided the proposal as fascist. Ron DeSantis, who has seen Haley close in on him for second place behind Donald Trump, said it was "dangerous and unconstitutional."
The Florida governor said: "You know who were anonymous writers back in the day? Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison when they wrote the Federalist Papers. They were not "national security threats."

You want to combat hate speech? Hold the companies that host it accountable. When a person makes a threat, investigate and prosecute. Leave Constitutionally-protected free speech alone. SCOTUS would slap down Haley's proposal in a New York minute.
