@Renaci He started out life as a regular business analyst working in NYC. During his work analyzing numbers in businesses he noticed a trend and spotted a potential gap in the market for selling books online. He talked to his girlfriend and they decided to take a punt pack their belongings into their car and drive to California where they set up a website selling books and magazines online.
That was in the late 90’s. The rest they say is history.
