I will start by saying that there are no dissident newspapers in Israel. There are left leaning papers, and I subscribe to one, center (left and right) and right wing (started by the Canadian equivalent of Rupert Murdoch, who's now dead, but was the initial primary backer of Donald Trump. His wife carries on his hate agenda).
An interesting theory, and I don't doubt that some members of the Netanyahu government, would like to see this happen. One of the fucking morons was assuring the world that nuking Gaza was on the table. Even Netanyahu had to point out his foolishness. A number of them should be held responsible, at some point in the future, for their actions and hate speech.
It is no secret that Netanyahu's alliance's goal is to drive all non-Jews from the area, because they believe the land was given to them by God no less.
That said, the only thing that's on the agenda, post Netanyahu (and this part is certain), and for sure Hamas is gone, it to give the PA control over Gaza. This agenda is driven by the US, France, UK and to some extent, Germany. On board are the western-allied Arab countries, specifically the GCC, Qatar, Egypt, and Jordan.
