Is the context the Hamas call for a holy war to retake the Holy Lands, in the name of Islam, or the legitimate struggle of the PA for Palestinian homeland? I may argue that "Jihad" is associated with the former, and that is worrisome to me, as a liberal, or to anyone whose aim is live in a "free" democracy.

@Northwest It's not just some in our media, it's most if our media.
Novara is one of the UK's biggest YouTube channels as its hosts have appeared in debates on mainstream TV but it really is an outlier in a really right leaning media eco system..
Most of our print media is openly conservative and the BBC has loads of Tories working in high political positions. There are prominent liberals who have worked on TV but many of those (like Andrew marr) supported the Iraq war. Sky news is owned by Murdoch and even the liberal press (like the Guardian) is against the political left, in addition to its constant tacit support for.uk foreign policy.
So when Novara critiques the UK media, its interpreting a hostile media environment from the position of a dissident. The default position is that of the marginalised critic. Or Alice through the looking glass, reporting for a science journal.
I am though questioning whether their take on this is quite right based on what you told me. Perhaps they should have put more emphasis on critiquing the use of that word, whilst still calling out the govt and media.
We are only talking about one section of the vid mind.
