There Sure Is a Lot of Anti-Semitism on SW. And It's Rather Disgusting.

ronnie · 56-60, M
I have not been looking for or noticed this. However, let us not confuse anti-semitism with anti-Israeli. They are very different and often deliberately confused to defend the aggression of the state of Israel.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@ronnie exactly. And one can be pro palestine but not pro hamas. Lets not be be quick to categorize and judge.
ronnie · 56-60, M
@trollslayer Exactly. This is a crisis for the people of the region and the middle east in general. Sadly I heard a media figure today state that the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is known to the news broadcasters as a 'turn-off' item. It is now so entraenched and bitter with no conceivable long term solution, that listeners and viewers now simply turn off to the reports. This is not simply based on recent events but for some time now.

But I do reiterate that condemnation of Israeli actions and excessive aggression must never be considered antisemitism.

I'm anti-Hamas but also anti-Netenyahu, settler and Likud.
I'm pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian and believe the latter should have their own state free of IDF control.
It's a devil's cauldron there and the soup's been stirred by both sides for a long time. 😥

@tindrummer and I have the same view. I only understand a level of the geotheopilitics through work. However, based on that, we've tried a two state solution. It didn't work pre-Hamas.
Unless we can get the ordinary Palestinians safely to someplace else they can live until Hamas goes bye bye... Idk how to prevent the Innocents from being harmed. Israel can't quietly let Hamas do its thing ...

We live in a world where as a nation we have to take sides, but from the very start of this conflict, both Israelis and Palestinians had a hand in creating the mess,

I'm not Jewish but I sympathize with the Israeli people.

There's been a lot of racism/anti-semitism/general sociopathy on SW from the beginning. And the mods seem to not give a crap. The only reason this place is visitable is because the solid majority of users have no time for it. Vast credit to the general community here.

Having joined Twitter in 2020 I couldn't have imagined it being worse than SW, yet here we are.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
I'm not sure if your definition here so correct me if I'm wrong. I do know your views on foreign policy.

Criticism of Israeli state actions is not anti-Semitism and neither is support for the Palestinian people. We shouldn't conflate the two.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@RedBaron Just so we are debating on equal terms. Please can you condemn the IDF for using phosphorus gas on Gazans.

You have not used one word to criticise the IDF killing civilians.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@beckyromero I agree with you about Independence Day.

@Burnley123

Couldn't resist.

I try to be impartial. Yet some idiots refuse to leave out the bigotry! Like Russia is run by Jews!😖

I can't believe the insanity! 😖🤷🏻‍♂️

I have been called anti-semitic for decrying prior fascist Israeli Govt tactics. Also for calling out the genocidal actions of bombing apartment buildings, hospitals, ambulances, declared-safe evacuation routes indiscriminantly. These are the equivalent to the Hamas actions...

Just as Hemas operatives perpetrated war crimes, so does the Israeli Govt. All should be tracked, arrested and prosecuted. Then punished.

If Israel were to use a lighter touch with special forces, they could still hunt down the killers. Bounties would help as well, etc.
