Israel is attacked

This stuff didn’t happen when Trump was in office. Russia/Ukraine… Chinas posturing…. Now Israel..

Biden is viewed as weak. It’s that simple.

Y'know, thousands of civilians in both Israel and Palestine are in mortal danger right now and it's creepy that some of y'all see this shit going down right before your eyes and can only think to make it a cheap partisan political thing. Tons of crazy aggression from other countries happened during Trump's term like the Turkish attacks on Kurdish civilians in Syria, China's continued annexation of the South China Sea, North Korean missiles flying over Japan, etc etc. The world doesn't actually revolve around the man in the oval office, or the letter beside his name. Israel has been fostering the conditions for this kind of extreme violence for decades under both parties, and it's gonna keep boiling over periodically until... well, I don't even wanna think of where this ends if nothing's done about it.

@BlueVeins For these people, the world only revolves around the man in the Oval Office if that man is Trump.

Like treating Palestinians in Israeli hospitals or blockades to keep advanced weaponry out of the hands of those who can justify this kind of extreme violence?

@Activitykittens How about forcibly removing people from their own homeland and killing them whenever they try to fight back? Hamas is basically just a garden variety antisemitic terror group at this point, but they didn't arrive at that level of degeneracy all on their own. Israel has far more power in this situation and they've consistently used it malevolently.
@BlueVeins I don't understand Israel's continued push for settlements. The government doesn't just randomly kill people though does it? Not unless they're being attacked?

The continued land grab does seem very wrong and malevolent

Like continually stoking a fire and they seemingly do it to please the very religious. The ultra religious often don't even contribute to Israeli society - they exist on welfare and refuse conscription into the army

There must be something I'm missing

@Activitykittens It's a nationalism & religion thing on Israel's end. Old Testament has a ton of passages about conquering the land now known as Israel and warring against anyone who tries to invade it. They view it as the land promised to them as god and keep it real, a lot of it stems from ethnic hatred. Closest analogue I can think of is American settlers removing indigenous tribes from their land because they believed in manifest destiny; that God wills white Americans to rule what's now known as the contiguous United States. Obviously, resource competition plays a big role as well; the Jordan River is a really important source of water to control and land is typically a convenient thing to have.

Israeli forces don't shoot random people as a matter of policy, but to my understanding, they're pretty indiscriminate in the force they do apply "defensively" to maintain control over the territory they've taken over. Don't quote me though, my brain is too cooked to research it right now. It sucks and I don't know what would have to happen to fix this problem.

@Activitykittens most Israelis look upon the ultra religious the same way we in USA look down on welfare recipients.
