Doesn't he want to send the Marines into Mexico? Or am I confusing him with one of the other clowns?

My solution would be to just annex Mexico and make it the 51st state. That would solve the illegal immigration problem as every Mexican would immediately become a natural-born citizen. The economic boost would be tremendous; people would be saying "China who?" for the next century.

@LeopoldBloom Santa Ana is rolling in his grave at your suggestion.
@JSul3 I'll never forgive Santa Anna for killing Davy Crockett.

I'm a big fan of annexation. My solution to the Israel/Palestine conflict is for the US to just annex the whole area, make everyone there a US citizen, and send the Ferguson, MO police department there to keep order. If the Palestinians don't like the conditions in the West Bank or Gaza, they can move to New York City or Detroit or Albuquerque.

@LeopoldBloom Annexation without consent is invasion at worst, colonialism at the least. Neither bodes well.
We cant even allow Puerto Rico to gain statehood or DC.
@JSul3 Naturally, they would have to agree first. Although Hawaii's admission is somewhat controversial as there is some question as to whether it was done correctly and if Hawaii could legally return to being an independent country.

The last time this came up for a vote, a majority In Puerto Rico chose statehood. The only thing stopping it is a Republican filibuster as it would potentially add two Democratic senators and four House members, although it's not certain. I've heard analysis that it could be a 50/50 split between the two parties, but the Republicans don't want to risk that it won't be. Washington DC has wanted to be a state for a long time, and of course that would definitely add more Democrats to Congress.

@LeopoldBloom Were roles reversed, rest assured that the Republicans would be all in on statehood for both...and even nixing the Electoral College.
