If Timothy McVeigh ran for president after his Oklahoma bombing against the American people, could he have avoided jail and execution?

Would "the base" have cheered him and send him money... or did they already do that when back in the day when they were naïve and believed what they could see and read on their own?

And here is why I have moved away from the GOP despite my political leanings being the same.

When this bombing happened, republicans and democrats equally denounced the incident AND his views, calling them radical, foolish, etc.

While most GOP today denounce the bombing, if you read McVeighs viewpoints to GOP members without saying whose views they were, I would bet over 90% STRONGLY agree with them.

The Republicans would have recruited him to run for congress. And he would win in the area where the bombing was. Oklahoma is a red state where anyone with the magic R is automatically elected.

He'd have been Donald "RICO" Trump's VP pick
Strictgram · 70-79, C
@SW-User Looks perfectly fine to me. What's your objection?

@SW-User Incoherent ramblings.

Sure, Jan:

As to why you vote for him?

Graylight · 51-55, F
Yes. John Wilkes Booth, too. Hated tyrants, hated black folk, hated people getting citizenship. We could've had President booth if he'd played his cards right.

The Far Right...on the wrong side of history since ever.

@Patriot96 I don't watch CNN. Ever.
Just think of McVeigh with all the special treatment that Trump has gotten. McVeigh would be waiting for the trial and threatening more people from his own home. Drumming up multi millions in donations.
specman · 51-55, M
What? No he would not be accepted by this Republican or any of the lawmakers that are Republicans. What he did was terrible!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@specman Well, let's take a look...

1. He was against "the deep state."
2. He was a self-professed action.
3. He treated people like collateral damage to prove his point.
4. He only recognized "law-and-order" when it served him.
5. He ultimately paid a price for his lawlessness.
specman · 51-55, M
@MarkPaul so. That doesn’t mean anything. I would not vote for him.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
You are ridiculous.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@MarkPaul Obsessed??? I think you should look in the mirror! A young man like you with TDS wasting your life
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@fanuc2013 I appreciate my super-fans. They are always so caring and interested in what I am doing with my life. Where would I be without all of you? You all are like my own community of neighbours.
