Politics Nowadays

I think it's safe to say that it has basically become a competition to "own" the other side, in the most dirty way.
Only on the Right. The Left and even the Center want policies that would benefit everyone, including working-class people who vote Republican. It's only the Right that base their whole politics around OWNING THE LIBS.

True!

Trust me, this zero accountability attitude puts people off the left.

It really isnt a 'both sides do this' thing, nowadays. One side is trying to govern, the other side is trying to destroy all government,

Sad but true but tell me how else to treat people who advocate for human rights violations, inhumane policies and dehumanise groups of people 🤷‍♀️

Despicable Far right ideology has found it's way into the mainstream. Instead of a majority uniting against it parts of societies side with the far right.

It's also the political right that wants to "own" the other side with strawmans.
@Gloomy This is also sad, but true. Look how many people still support these far-right politicians like Donald Trump, after January 6th, 2021.

Agreed sadly. I'm certainly guilty of it
@Guitarman123 I am too. It is just too easy to get caught up in it.

@latinbutterfly definitely and can kinda be fun
All those politicians are on the same side, trying to get everyone to believe they’re on each of our sides against each other. Crazy that it’s working.

I'd use the term destroy but I get what you're saying

they don't want to have a better idea - they want to prove how bad the others are

When was it not about power hungry pieces of shit duping people in the name of democracy?
@PhilDeep True. Although once upon a time, a Republican politician and a Democrat politician could actually sit down and have an adult political debate.

Politics is not nearly cynical enough!
