I guess I had what folks call an "Epiphany" early this morning, a real rarity for me even moreso since it was political geez.
I really haven't kept up with this whole, Ukrainian/Russia conflict. For some reason, I had a question about Mike Pence a man I have honestly disdained ever since Trump was first elected.
My rather un-quailifiied assessment of this VP under Trump was that he was not much more than a rather feckless, bootlicker who really had no real political role other than his adoring looks at his boss now and then.
Of course that did change a little bit when he refused to sabotage the election results even under the threat of being hung.
As I was researching, I noticed he had a rather harsh verbal altercation recently with Tucker Carlson. Carlson was accusing Pence of defending the Ukraine who was being accused of persecuting Christianity, Pence, ( A religious man himself ) was stating it isn't the "church" in of itself but rather the "Ukraine Orthodox Church" specifically. Apparently, this denomination had been supporting Russia and the tyrannical "leadership" of the dictator Putin.
This reminded me that I had spent many decades detesting the Roman Catholic Chruch because of their support of Hitler and his Holocaust probably the worst crime against humanity. It wasn't either the religion, it's traditions, or the people I hated, it was the loss of humanity and reasoning, many of my best friends are Catholics.
Carlson was arguing about the horrible waste of money this would cause, (Forgetting about the huge cost of his wall, the billions going for the tax cuts for his blessed 1 percent. The people that for Trump truly matter.
The really important thing is that Ukraine seeks to become much more "Westernized" wanting to join the EU and NATO (another worthwhile hallmark of democracy Trump despises,
I'm not asking for people to adopt my own reasoning, I haven't the political intelligence nor the most important insights. All I ask of anyone here is to draw their OWN opinions. Question EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. Our freedoms are a brittle, fragile gift, we just all need to do our own small part. Thank you for reading this whether you agree or not.
