Am I the only liberal around here who doesn’t get offended and butthurt over everything?

Seems like we’re getting a bad reputation as people who can’t handle a disagreement or mature discussion about whatever views we have. It’s a lil frustrating because I for one can respect opposing opinions and realize that just because I think a certain way doesn’t mean everyone else does or even should. Like have ppl ever thought maybe there are some things out there that aren’t as black and white as we try to make them out to be. Or that maybe not one sole person or social/political group has everything figured and is always right. Hell maybe we’re all wrong. Maybe we’re only human and can’t take complex issues, or broad ideas and put it all into one little box and label it “Right” and just throw away anything that dare challenges our own logic into the trash and not even consider the possibility that maybe, just maybe everyone’s opinion matters…. Or maybe none of our opinions matter. Either way I support everyone’s rights as fellow humans to an opinion and wish more people would. Just saying

It's my understanding, that everybody, regardless of time or place gets offended by something, it's just a part of human nature. And every individual human is different in terms of what offends whom. For example, the things that offend you, may not offend me and vice versa. Another more personal example being that when I was a child, I was taught that swearing is bad and that in effect, made me very quick to indignantly react when someone swore in casual conversation, regardless of whether it was a friend, a family member, an accquaintance or even a total stranger. But as time went on, I became gradually less offended by it as I've grown.

@BigGuy2 Did I mention "Liberals" in my comment? NO! Did I mention "Conservatives" in my comment? NO! I was making an impartial statement about human nature in general. And for the record, when I was a child, I had no knowledge of politics. Back then, I Thought "Left-Wing," "Right Wing" and "Center" were just positions in a hockey game and that a "Leftist" was a Left-handed person. (such are childhood perceptions) But it doesn't change the fact that as a child, I easily got offended by people when I hear them swear. (Among other thing that I was taught were wrong as a child) This isn't about politics, this is about MORALS.

@BigGuy2 My case being, that you don't have to be liberal to be offended. Being offended, or upset, or disgusted is a negative emotional response that has been inherent in the whole of humankind since the days of our prehistoric protohuman ancestors.
