IMF Proposes Global Central Bank Digital Currency in Move Toward Cashless Society – So They Can Control the People

In a development that seems more dystopian than dynamic, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced its plans to develop a global Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) platform. This decision raises significant questions about monetary sovereignty, financial privacy, and global equity.

While IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva argued for the need for global CBDCs at a conference attended by African central banks in Rabat, Morocco, critics are skeptical.

And when paired with a social credit system such as what they have in China, your ability to use your money is at their discretion.

Ohh...we see you haven't gotten your 8th booster...no soup for you. Or your family.

@BizSuitStacy ... it's already happening in China, there's a kick boxer who calls out fake Martial Arts instructors and challenges them to a fight in a ring {fully televised} ... without fail, he shows them up as fakes - the Chinese Government has put restrictions on his travel and lifestyle, stating that he's disrespecting Chinese culture ... so, it's already arrived there

@jshm2 SO we should alter monetary policy over what is " is all the rage"?

The argument isn't even over digital currency. It's about who has control.

@Budwick ... oh YES

"Our algorythm has identified you made payments to something/someone WE don't like - so YOUR money will be withheld"

If information is handled digitally and passed over any network of any scope and size, it can be captured and information parsed. Doesn’t always mean it will be captured and analyzed, and some is obviously highly encrypted. However, to assume the fact I hypothetically sent a digital currency donation to the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action would not become known to a third party, is extremely naive. In fact, in the digital world, some entities could be disallowed reception of funds just by toggling a bit.

In addition, of course, they have mentioned nothing about this becoming compulsory.

@Budwick well when you know what's coming it kind of is. Especially when so many really choose to bury their head in nonsense instead of paying attention.
