Literally.............in many, many respects the vote in 2024 is to preserve democracy. The entire GOP is pro-fascism vs a democracy in America anymore. The enemy of every single conservative and GOP politician is the "antifa"................[b]ANTI[/b]-Fascists. When the enemy of 1/2 of America is anyone who hates fascism......and thinks a democracy with a Constitution is the worst choice for us now...........what does that tell you for the kind of ruling order the GOP wants and intends to steer us towards if they win enough control of Congress and the courts and the White House to do it?

@anythingoes477 I'm no fan of the GOP, but to call them pro-fascism is more of the nonsense that shows one of the sides to be completely lacking in credibility.

@originnone Define fascism and then you tell me saying the GOP is pro-fascist is wrong............
1. Ultra nationalism and hate of all who do not "belong"........as in Jews in WWII for instance.
2. A leader who tells you ONLY he can save you from the evils.........all others are the enemy.
3. A desire (and promise) to tear up the Constitution.
4. Attempts to silence the media if critical of the fearless leader. Trump suggested over 15 times in 4 years to take away broadcast licenses from CNN, shut down the Washington Post, etc.
5. Open racial attacks on anyone who is non-white. Muslim bans...a wall to keep non-whites out
6. Aligning government with violent groups to increase a violent power base.........Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, KKK
7. Political rallies where the NAZI flag is flown openly.
8. Inciting followers to kill legislators who go against the loyalty of the leader............ Jan 6th
9. 4 Closed door meetings with the biggest enemy of the U.S......no witnesses......then Top Secret documents stolen to sell or given or traded to guess who?
10. The legal system attacked if it tries to hold the Fearless Leader to account for ANY crimes committed.
11. Free election voter suppression..........especially with gerrymandering to make sure those who MIGHT vote against trump are hindered from voting at all.
12. The leader discrediting the election system because it prevents him from taking office and staying as long as he wants.
13. Suggesting (for years) that leadership of American should now be handed to his children...like a dynasty of family rule.....instead of elections at all.
This list can go and on. You lived thru seeing All of this and more in the last 6 years. Saying you do not see any comparisons at all by both trump and his following to strive for each of the things above is lying to yourself.

@anythingoes477 Ok.....some things you got wrong....1. You DID compare the GOP to fascism, which originated from Italy but driven by Hitler. 2. The only REDS to which I associate myself with are in Cincinnati. 3. Trump is a narcissist, which results him being excessively popular with his followers, but it's not even close to a cult. 4. Although you're not wrong, there's a clearly incorrect and obvious assumption in your post that the popular vote is relevant. Perhaps it should be, but you can't change the rules after the election.

@originnone Point #1...........There's the GOP and what left of the GOP. MOST of the old GOP are now dinosaurs. Trumps GOP absolutely think the time has come to tear up the Constitution.........as he promised to do if elected in 2024. That is facist.
Point #2..........you must have no idea how a cult behaves. When you are so poor you can't buy gas but you send money blindly to a millionaire......that's a cult. When you can not hear anything bad about the leader........or see it.........or even WANT to read about it..........it's a cult. When justice does not apply to the cult leader but you hear "what about him"..."what about her"........for doing what they think is the same thing.....then they believe that ONLY one person on earth is immune from law. That's a cult. When one person they follow like sheep is thought to be Jesus....."sent directly from God".....that is a cult.

@anythingoes477 Well, you can have whatever opinion about issues that you see fit....but when you change definitions of words and decide the rules that were agreed to before an election should have been different after the election, you lose a lot of credibility.
I'll also counter that I think the masses under the GOP always had some of the negative characteristics we've seen recently. I think they are just exposed more now. Maybe true "conservatives" are the dinosaurs....like the Reagans, Goldwaters, etc.
