And yes, I'm disgusted by Republican fascists banning books. What's hilarious is that will only motivate kids to read those same books, which they can easily get for free from Z-Library and other sources. If you want to make sure a kid does something, tell him he's not allowed to do it.

@specman Which is what happens in nearly all cases. However, gender dysphoria is a medical condition and withholding treatment can lead to suicide and other negative outcomes.

However, I feel the same way about circumcision. Children should not have their genitals mutilated unless it is medically necessary. Cosmetic or religious circumcision should be delayed until they're 18. The fact that conservatives are hysterical about nonexistent gender surgery on children, while keeping silent about circumcision, proves that this is nothing but anti-trans bigotry and not "concern for the children."

Every mental issue can lead to suicide. Practically every medicine has risks up to suicide.

Democrats are harming and pushing the children towards the horrible surgery!

@specman I would gladly trade sterility to have my foreskin back. Circumcision can never be reversed while puberty blockers can be. And since children are not having gender reassignment surgery, adults have to be responsible for their own decisions. If I'd decided to get circumcised when I was an adult, I wouldn't be complaining about it.

Republicans want to deny health care to people because on some level, they don't care if people die. In fact, I think their hatred of trans people is so profound, they actually want them to die just to get rid of them.

@specman Speaking as someone who was circumcised, I have a number of after effects, like meatal stenosis. Circumcision is a barbaric practice that should be outlawed for anyone under 18. Kids are not getting gender reassignment surgery. That simply isn't happening. Anyone who tells you it is, is lying. Meanwhile, two-thirds of American boys are still having a healthy body part amputated for no medically-valid reason.

Circumcision is sexual assault on infants and must be outlawed immediately.
