2008: "OMG! The President is Black! Let's start a Tea Party!"

My opinion is that Trump was elected because of the election of a Black President.

Had Obama's dad been a white guy from the UK, I doubt there would have been a "birther" conspiracy. And it is through the birther conspiracy that Donald Trump became political.

So had Obama been a white guy named Smith, no Donald Trump.

I have to agree. There was always even a semblance of co-operation between the Republicans and Democrats before Obama. However, the election of a Black man was too far: the Republicans abandoned all pretence of bipartisanship and shut up shop.
