Eh, a lot of Republicans started backing away from him when all of his fraud started coming out. I think this guy mostly represents the gullibility of their voters and not really the Republican party itself.
I'm not particularly a fan of the GOP but I'm not going to judge them too harshly for this one unless they start circling wagons to protect him.

since i'm not a lawyer, I'm perplexed by this question: at what point do statements made during a campaign cross the line and become criminal fraud to obtain high office? Some examples over the years . . .
1. I will build a wall and get mexico to pay for it. 2. I will have the NIH cure cancer 3. I will win the war in Vietnam 4. I will win the war in Korea 5. I will not send japanese americans to concentration camps 6. I will govern in a centrist, non partisan manner for the benefit of all citizens.
