If big tobacco marketing to children outraged you?

Arms businesses spending much of their marketing budget bankrolling talk show hosts who promote delusional ideology that get mental health patients gun rights pulled as they blatantly feed into those kind of delusions, should outrage you equally.

That's a major contributing factor in mass shootings. The fact is that clean background sane people don't buy enough bran new guns to keep the hedge fund managers of big arms companies happy and aren't willing to spend top dollar.

The major contributing factor to mass shootings is guns. Period.

Lose the guns or regulate the guns. Big Tobacco has nothing to do with it, backgrounds have nothing to do with it, community has nothing to do with it, mental health has nothing to do with it. Guns.

@Graylight Shifting the discussion away from guns to mental health is an especially dangerous tactic cause it makes it out as if struggling with mental illness makes someone dangerous.

@Gloomy Thank you for saying that. We go on and on talking about mental health background checks as if
1. Those checks were shown in any meaningful way to be effective.
2. If we can just catch the unstable folk, we'll be safe.

Which, in turn, makes it easier to sell the myth of "other people" causing all the trouble. 97% of gun owners consider themselves to be properly trained and responsible. So who's doing all the shooting?

We know who the real Groomers are

No sane person needs a closet filled with guns

Gun manufacturers make 9 billion a year.
Guns dont break.
How do you sell people things they don't need? Convince them that soon, they will be unavailable.
It's been going on for decades. People are just too stupid to see that they are being used.

What if you consider the desire to own a semi automatic weapon to be a sign of mental instability?

Which it is.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Richard65 The tricky part is whether to pick certain mental conditions or all of them. And if so, it's gonna be hard to come up with the justifications.
