There is very little in the teachings of Jesus to praise the profit motive or accumulation of wealth; there's plethora of verses about helping the sick, the crippled, the poor, the imprisoned, etc. Jesus doesn't say what tools to use, he points out who needs help. And if you look at US politics and see who is using the tools of government to help the downtrodden, you can see why cartoons like the following hit home.

Note: there may be a few Covid costs averaged in here, but the proportions have been like this since Obama was elected. The US has been paying approx double Europe's costs for around 2 decades, and we have 2-3 years less life expectancy to show for it!
