In an extraordinary move, Tennessee's Republican-led House voted Thursday to expel two of three Democratic lawmakers who recently led a raucous protest from the House floor calling for gun law reforms.

Reps. Justin Jones, D-Nashville, and Justin Pearson, D-Memphis, were both removed from the body with votes falling along party lines, in a disciplinary measure that's only been used twice since the 1800s. The votes were 72 - 25 and 69 - 26 respectively. Together, they represent a combined constituency of about 130,000 people.
I'm posting this as purely informational. Mostly because this is unprecedented for this to happen in any state "for the charges made".
The fact is there will never be any gun control. There is a segment of society and at least 2/3 of this GOP controlled legislative body that would rather see 10,000....50,000 more kids killed than to see the shooter lose his right to shoot them. That may sound crazy but think about it. Who does the NRA freaks protect? The kids? Or the rights of a crazy person to buy all the guns he or she wants? Have you EVER seen a response of remorse from the GOP or the NRA that a kid was shot to death in his school? "Thoughts and Prayers"......and "now is not the time to discuss this" is the standard...every single time... response.

Literally the GOP, and their owners, the NRA, believe to their very core that it is worth having kids killed.........lots of them........as "an acceptable amount of causalities"......rather than save even one of them by losing the sale of even one gun.

Prove me wrong.

The party is about to start on this incident. This will become of national concern since only two were expelled and it looks very racist in nature.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Pfuzylogic I believe you are very correct.

The two they expelled are very likely to get right back in office very quickly at that.

@DeWayfarer
They mentioned the first representative could get voted back in for the special election. If he is allowed to be a cndidate then all the house managed to do is roil some of the left meanwhile I saw some national figures weigh in!

@Pfuzylogic that's close to what the analysis are saying. Just some technicalities.

The GOP is just proving once again that they don't support democracy. They won't be happy until there is a dictator in power and a one-party system.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@windinhishair they refused to even have a ethics committee look at this. With a super majority they just rammed it through.

I mentioned once today elsewhere, this is pure fanaticism. You can't compromise with fanatics.

No compromise on the state level, as well as no compromise on the supreme court level.

@DeWayfarer The racist Speaker also called it worse than the January 6 insurrection. I hope both removed legislators are re-appointed and win the special elections to fill the vacant seats. They cannot be removed again for the same actions.

Fascist move.

GOPers want to keep real Americans out of office by any means possible.

DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@DeWayfarer no i was meaning in the US Past members of the Federal GOVT would actually swing their canes at each other and one even sent another member to the doctors with such a sever beating on the floor of congress, i was meaning all actions like that or like inciting anger are the proof, not saying those who broke into the capitol to disrupt the running of the Government
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@DiegoWolfe oh that's mild. You're over looking Vice President Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton duel. Hamilton died!
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@DeWayfarer this is true, i was trying to limit my comment to just congress, LOL
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Missing the whole issue. Not about guns at all.
