Biden lambasts a victory for the environment

News Flash: Several OPEC+ members are set to tighten global production by an additional 1.16 million barrels per day until the end of the year. They're helping save the environment!!!!!!!!!

YAY! Right?

U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration has repeatedly lambasted the OPEC+ group for its production cuts.

Shouldn't Joe and Greta et al. be praising OPEC from the rooftops? I just don't get it. Fossil fuels are too polluting for us to produce for ourselves and the world, yet when our pushers in the middle east stop producing them we get in an uproar.

Please explain.

It's simple.

This is not new business. OPEC similarly cut prices last October. In a statement, they said: the decision to cut production was due to “uncertainty that surrounds the global economic and oil market outlook.”

"They're making what may effectively be a preemptive cut anticipating weaker economic conditions coming during the rest of this calendar year and trying to balance their production with what they perceive the demand will be," said Tim Fitzgerald, professor of business economics at Texas Tech University.

Why is Biden displeased?

“We don't think that production cuts are advisable at this moment, given market uncertainty, and we've made that clear," White House Spokesman John Kirby said on Monday.

The production cut coincides with an ongoing rise in gas prices. The national average price for a gallon of gas stands at $3.50, which marks a 2% increase over the past week and 3% spike over the past month, AAA data showed. In California, the state with the highest gas prices, the average price per gallon is $4.83, according to AAA.

So, spewing filthy CO2 into the environment is advisable. And why is Saudi oil magically less polluting than our own home-grown oil?

If not now, when?

@irishmolly72 Well, why don't you take time to research the answers to your own questions? And then you can come back here informed.

Shouting out rhetorical questions you don't accept answers for is not debate.

@Graylight I accept correct answers only. 😀

@irishmolly72 There are no correct answers to stated opinions. That's the trouble with you guys; you have no understanding between a fact and a randomly fired thought.

@Graylight Thanks for stereotyping everyone you disagree with. We're making some real progress here. 😆

@Graylight I don't need to prove anything to a guy with a room temperature IQ.

@irishmolly72 Well, you're wrong on two points.
