Biden lambasts a victory for the environment

News Flash: Several OPEC+ members are set to tighten global production by an additional 1.16 million barrels per day until the end of the year. They're helping save the environment!!!!!!!!!

YAY! Right?

U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration has repeatedly lambasted the OPEC+ group for its production cuts.

Shouldn't Joe and Greta et al. be praising OPEC from the rooftops? I just don't get it. Fossil fuels are too polluting for us to produce for ourselves and the world, yet when our pushers in the middle east stop producing them we get in an uproar.

Please explain.

The failure to persue alternatives to gasoline is a political choice.

@Roundandroundwego But the federal government, along with some state governments, are absolutely pursuing alternatives. There's all kinds of tax credits available for purchasing an EV. My state has pledged that by 2035, only zero emission vehicles can be sold within the state. But the government doesn't run the auto industry. Economics is what's driving this one. From both the auto industry (which is moving quickly with EV's) and, just as importantly, the charging stations that are necessary.
@Ynotisay the global spending on alternatives was mainly Chinese.
Electric autos? Sure. Gag me with a silver spoon.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego Per capita that's not true. China is also the leading carbon emitter in the world. China's commitment is purely monetary. Which is great. Doesn't matter how we get there. But a cleaner environment isn't China's lane.
@Ynotisay cars aren't pedestrian friendly cities. You have a huge block.
excuses only. Elon Musk knows suburbs and driving are evil.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego Not sure what you're saying.
@Ynotisay nope -. Alternatives to the ecosystem killing, culture drowning cars are nevah your thing - you don't know bout nothing like that! That is your political choice. Anti population, pro American, business is good for you.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego So you added to your comment, in an attempt for it to make sense, and you ran with that? Elon Musk? Really? Suburbs are evil?
You don't have an EV, do you?
@Ynotisay okay I'll stop attempting. You don't understand that your nation has political choices, that your carbon emissions are voluntary. Bye.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego Again, you don't have an EV do you. I bet you don't even recycle.
I understand that my country has political choices. Why is WHY they offer the tax credits they do. Which is why my state won't be selling anything but zero-emission vehicles. But I don't live a communist nation where the government controls industry. Maybe you do. Have fun with that.
@Ynotisay it's not about me the individual, but failure to grasp and ability to drive seem to go together.
@Ynotisay EVs cost the environment more than using old cars. You didn't build no green grid.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego Sure it is dude. You're an individual. You can make your own choices. Why don't you just walk the walk. Take the tax credits provided by the evil government. Come on man. Don't just mouth off. DO something.
@Ynotisay public transportation is essential, cities that are pedestrian friendly are essential to US health and survival. No wonder you obsessed over electric cars instead.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego You're rambling nonsensically. Just so you know. Even accounting for manufacturing, EV's are way more beneficial in regards to greenhouse gasses than older cars. I'll guess you saw a clickbait title one time and ran with it, right? Bet whatever shit you read didn't mention 'length of operation." Why say shit that isn't true dude? Why do that? I'll never understand it.
@Ynotisay the car based life is harmful and the communities are sick, unsustainable inhumane. You can never understand what you've missed. You're a driver. So human beings aren't really your thing and that village we all need is pie in the sky or a joke for you. We may never survive you.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego Someone doesn't get out much, huh? I'm almost thinking you've never been to the U.S.. Am I right? Do this. Look at a map. Look at the size of the country.
So you don't like rural environments, and you don't like suburban environments so I guess that just leaves enormous cities? Is that how you see life? That's just sad.
@Ynotisay you're way off. What na hele trail system? You nevah been. Me? I've known cities on every continent on foot. You are a liar. Cars aren't the answer but you only know cars. Lol. Sick.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego What do you get out of this man? Why would you create your own reality, and shit on other people YOU DON'T KNOW in the process, in an attempt to defend your fantasy world?
You might want to step away from the screens buddy. It's not serving you well.
@Ynotisay most people understand that cities will be a part of our future. You simply battle me. Okay.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego Uh...what? Now we're on Hawaiian trail system? Some of which I've done although there's WAY too many rookies for me. Yeah. I think I was right. I don't even think you've been to the U.S. If so, you didn't venture outside of a city. Again. Sad.
@Ynotisay too many rookies. Okay. Whatever. You are best.
@Ynotisay isn't Hawaii in the USA? What about Philadelphia? The Huntington pike trails? You surely know more about that than I -. And you know what I've nevah been to - in a liars kind of way..n
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego Didn't say I was best. Said I didn't like being around rookies. Or anyone on trails. That's different. If you went on a mile long hike on a Hawaiian vacation, good for you. I'm not you.
Ynotisay · M
@Roundandroundwego At the very least you need to move off the trail argument. That's not your lane. Clearly. What country do you live in man? I'm curious.
@Ynotisay obviously you're not. Cities need to serve people. Housing and transportation needs should never be privatized. getting personal seems to be your way out of the truth -. Driving was always wrong. It's now an emergency to stop.
