Now the entire thing has been quoted. (Imitating Yoda) Pieces out of order are, but quoted the entire amendment has been.

@Slade It means the thing that is necessary is a well-regulated militia. In what universe could "a well-regulated militia being necessary" not mean the well-regulated militia is the thing that is necessary? The amendment is about a well-regulated militia. Not about Cletus Jim Bob Billy Ray Wachado [one guy with all those names] stockpiling assault weapons to get all liquored up and shoot at anything that moves.
