Trump and indictment - question.

Trump apologists -

You like to say that everything against him is a politically motivated "witch hunt", and that he has not been indicted of any crime.

Suppose he gets indicted and convicted by a jury. What will you say then? Will you accept reality that Trump is a criminal, or will you still whine and protest? Is there anything at all that would convince you Trump has committed crimes?

I would love for one of the trump haters to truly explore why trump lovers like him so much. Partisan politics begets blindness on both sides of the spectrum.

@originnone I certainly understand why some people think he is the greatest president of their lifetime. Many in my family are hardcore Trump backers. Most of these people are rural, feel like they have been pushed around by both sides, and want to return to a time when they felt in control of their own lives and communities. They blame immigrants, Chinese trade, required social programs, and a removal of religion from local politics. Trump comes along and says he will build a wall, punish China, loosen economic regulations, and allow religions to have more control and these folks think that will take life back to that time in the past that they consider "ideal". I long for the past, too, so I get the sentiment. 30 years ago, I might have agreed (but never agreed with Trump being a jerk). Over 30 years I have learned that the world isn't that simple,

@trollslayer The best answer for why someone would support him came from Obama, I thought. People often stick to their god, guns, and....something when they have nothing else. I think it would be cool if someone in politics could address them and gain their support without being nuts like Trump.
@originnone I would love for you to explain why you love a man who is guilty of inciting insurrection. Setting aside his unpleasant personality, and his policies which I disagreed with, how do you justify that?

@originnone Agree 100%. Ross Perot scratched that itch for many back in 1992. I think Ron Paul was also appealable to many for the same reason. The reality, whether the Democrats admit it or not, is that Trump may have been extreme in methods and scope, but the problems he (or his movement) recognizes are real. Notice how many Democrats are now not wanting Title 42 to end. Notice how they are now singing a different song regarding COVID restrictions and oil drilling. My ideal candidate would understand the reality that a population is difficult to control, from either side.
