@BritishFailedAesthetic false. There's no state in communism. It refers to a stateless, classless society without scarcity and thus no need of money. Communism has never been achieved. Socialism refers to workers ownership of the means of production. Socialism doesn't require a state. There have been stateless socialist societies like the Zapatistas, Rojava, Anarchist Catalonia, etc. A form of socialism in market based societies are worker's cooperatives.

@basilfawlty89 Fine. I'm still a staunch capitalist but I do love SOME socialist principles- with US style healthcare my wife would have been dead ages ago, when she has gone in for other factors related to her health the NHS have been great. Whether we could hybridise the healthcare system like the rest of Europe is another discussion but I'd never have US style healthcare. Additionally I have no problem with governments launching initiatives to lower the gender wage gap to ensure women are paid exactly the same as men for the same role.

@BritishFailedAesthetic FYI. Social welfare is not socialist. The welfare state was created by conservatives to undermine socialists. Make people just slightly less miserable so they don't revolt.
