Both sides are, to some extent, doing the same. One side though, is a bit more personally impacted.

@samueltyler2 explain

@pianoplayingsteve regardless of which side of the abortion controversy you are on, you are asking the other side to adopt your attitude.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@samueltyler2 Okay, I read the "extra details" and assumed this was about homosexuality. But then the title suggests it is about abortion which just clicked just now.

@samueltyler2 how so? The pro-choice movement isn't forcing pro-lifers to have an abortion.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@NerdyPotato Well, here in the UK with socialised health care, they use the tax money of people who may not agree with abortion, to fund abortions. Imagine viewing abortion as murder and then having money you worked hard for taken without your true consent, to be used to perform what you see as murder of what you see as a child.

@pianoplayingsteve true, but the same goes for wars. But the army is ironically quite popular among "pro-lifers", as is the death penalty.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@NerdyPotato OKay, but that doesn't really have anything to do whatsoever with abortion. And yes, supporting the army is popular among the pro lifers, as giving your life to protect the members of your community is one of the most noble things a person can do. Protecting life, that seems to be a theme, here :P That doesn't mean you actually want war, though. Anymore than me being in support of burglar alarms means I want burglaries to happen.

@NerdyPotato but the anti-abortion people feel that it is morally wrong to have an abortion and feel that their rights are impinged. I don't happen to agree, but i just am saying that they may have a point.

@pianoplayingsteve most wars have nothing to do with protecting America though and the comparison with burglar alarms doesn't make any sense.
