@UnderLockDown yes, it is, it causes me much stress to be threatened like that, but they say they're within their rights to do that even though the 8th amendment is supposed to protect you from excessive fines and cruel and unusual punishment. Excessive as is described as not correlating with the offense being punished or the defendant can't pay for his other living expenses.
The state constitution also prohibits excessive Fines.
Legal experts say the government gets away with it and it does great damage to people.
It's only gone to the Supreme Court one time
