to all the people who scream fake news when they don't like the truth

Wer die Wahrheit nicht weiß, der ist bloß ein Dummkopf. Aber wer sie weiß und sie eine Lüge nennt, der ist ein Verbrecher.

Anyone who doesn't know the truth is just a fool. But whoever knows it and calls it a lie is a criminal.

Bertold Brecht (1898 – 1956)

Bertold Brecht himself was a source of lucid truths
ragnalikessnow · 22-25, F
@ElRengo do I hear irony in that? 🧐😊I actually really like reading his books
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@ragnalikessnow
No irony at all, not from me.
I discovered him more than 50 years ago.
And I still read his works with joy.
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
@ElRengo I only read them by the light of That Old Bilbao Moon

@ElRengo Irony might be found in you worshipping him for his truth but not knowing his actual name, BERTOLT.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@RedBaron
Some irony may be also found in finding irony in a typing mistake of mine.
Thank you for focusing in such important stuff.
RedBaron · M
@ElRengo We both know it wasn't a typo. I'm sure his name spelling was important to him. Is your name spelling not important to you?
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@RedBaron
So you assume that it was either my ignorance or on purpose?
I can tell you the source of my mistake but is not a need.
My name spelling? El Rengo? Not here, not really.
RedBaron · M
@ElRengo Your real name. And why not just take a few seconds with Google if you’re not sure?
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@RedBaron
Not sure of my real name? It might happen to me some days........😄
Of course I´m neither sure if you could spell it rightly but anyhow.
Just curious, what is your point?
RedBaron · M
@ElRengo That you’re so enamored of this guy and his lucid truth that you can’t spell his name. That’s incredibly ironic. Maybe you only see truth as you wish.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@RedBaron
Enamoured? Or previously said worship? Not really.
I just find in his works some lucid food for thought. As it happens with other authors and to other readers.
Do I agree with him in everything? No.
In any case I find him better than some others.
What I find funny (cos it doesn´t even qualifies as irony) is to be focused on trivialities.
But of course may be is in those trivia where you find truth to be.......
RedBaron · M
@ElRengo Truth is truth. And nobody’s name is trivial. But go ahead, be selective about truth if that’s your thing.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@RedBaron
Truth is Truth! Ohhhhhhhhhhh......what a deep definition of it!
Names may not be trivial but they become so when the core of the thing is not the name of the one saying something instead on what it may mean.
That is, the name even if important is not relevant. Insisting in it is trivial.
And of course I´m selective.
There are more truths than the ones that apply or matter on what is being said.
