If someone can do the job, does it really matter if they're old?
Bernie Sanders is roughly a thousand and he'd still be better than anyone else in congress.

@BohemianBabe Admittedly you're right there.

@BohemianBabe I wouldn't mind voting for AOC.

@BohemianBabe You are aware that he's one of the worst-performing Congressmen out there, right? If you care about success then you'd look to see how much legislation he's written that's been passed. I think your mind would be blown at how ineffective he is. What he does is introduce bills that DON'T pass. And that's because legislation isn't his lane. He's a community organizer on a national stage. He sells pie in the sky thinking to people who are all about feelings. Anyone can rile people up with "this is what it should be." It takes skill to move that to 'this is what it is.' He doesn't have that. Never has and never will.

@Ynotisay That is a criticism I've always had of him, but I think as president he'd at least pass any good bills that Democrats come up with. He also wouldn't back down like Obama and Biden do.

@Ynotisay I would argue those very traits make for better executive branch placement than legislative. He's always had pie in the sky ideals, but I've heard when he was a mayor he was actually very practical in getting his job done. He has his idealism but doesn't let it get in the way of practicality.

@BohemianBabe Back down? I don't understand 'back down.' There's a process for bills to be signed in to law. President's don't have a magic wand. Or unilateral authority. That's not how our system of government works.

@Ynotisay Which is why I said Bernie would pass the good bills, not that he would use his sorcery to give everyone healthcare.

@ViciDraco Maybe he was practical. But Burlington, VT, which is about 75% Democratic, has a population of around 40,000 people. I think practicality takes on a different meaning when you're governing 330 million. Especially with "Liberals" seen as an enemy that needs to be destroyed by more than half of those people.

@BohemianBabe OK. Then I guess I'd need to know which "bad" bills Obama and Biden passed. From my perspective, not that he will ever be in the position, but I think very few 'good' bills would be passed under a Sanders administration. He's not even a Democrat except when it's convenient for money. There would be no compromise. He serves a purpose now in Congress. But he also contributed, in a big way, to Trump becoming President. Can't forget that.

@BohemianBabe yeah, for an American president, he's performed pretty well.
