But how the country is governed actually affects everyone's lives.
If we abdicate our right to vote then we get what we deserve.

@hartfire I never said it wasn't important. I just can't stand when people are obsessed with it.

Their whole personality revolves around politics. It's insufferable.

@Chaoshead Ah, I see what you mean - a bit like an evangelist when they're determined to convert you to their way of thinking, hey?
I agree, obsessions about anything can be extremely irritating.
I just leave them to their own devices.

@hartfire That's actually a really perfect example. I have no problem with religion, people attending church etc.

But if that was all someone really cared or talked about and it took up like 80% of their mental space then obviously I wouldn't enjoy talking to them. Nobody wants to be constantly preached to, especially on a single topic.
