Where do Conservatives get the impression that socialism means not having money or the government paying people not to work?

@Adstar America also has people living in poverty and starvation and that's supposedly the country with the biggest economy. from Conservatives I've conversed with online.

@Guitarman123 Yeah poverty is all over the world.. But not to the extent of countries that have gone full socialist.. Like the 4 examples i have already given.. Socialism destrys incentive and a population without incentive has no drive and that nations productivity goes to the shite house real fast and so they end up in poverty..

@Adstar and yet during maos China population grew and under stalins Russia it became a industrial powerhouse and also as a result of his 5 year plan he had more tanks than uk, us and nazi Germany combined. Socialism destroys private ownership of the means of production and instead creates common ownership where workers have more control over their own destinies

@Adstar cuba has near zero homeless citizens, anyone can join local elections to represent their constituencies, its life expectancy is about the same as americas and has a better literacy rate and America.

@Guitarman123 Cubans are poor... They are only recently starting to get out of their poverty by opening up to a capitalistic based tourism industry.. Sooner or later when they have had their fill of the stupidity that is socialism they will open up completely and the prosperity they used to experience back in the boom times before castro,, will return..

Or do you mean when he made havana a seedier Las Vegas so it would appeal to American tourists and gangsters who batista was involved with as well as the American state whos thumb he was under? Batista had between 1 and 20 thousand innocent Cuban citizens who he suspected of being rebel supporters tortured and murdered. Rich cubans benefitted from batistas dictatorship but regular working cubans suffered horribly under him. The reason cuba is poor is because of the embargo placed on the country by America

Cubans are poor cause of an embargo and because island nations can't sustain themselves properly without strong trading partners with more ressources. Also poverty is relative and can only be measured with reference points.

@Guitarman123 Cuba was a richer nation before castro then it is now.. yeah batista was corrupt and corruption was rife in Cuba at the time.. But that was not related to capitalism it was related the the Hispanic culture that tolerates corruption and strong man leadership which leads to negative outcomes.. But still even with those negative features that Cuba was still a lot richer then Castro's cuba.. Even when it was subsidized to the hilt by the USSR with their favorable Sugar buying trade deals.. Also how many people do you think Castro had tortured and killed by his communist kill squads??? more then 20,000 no doubt..

No Cuba is not poor because of the US embargo.. Cuba can trade with China same as Venezuelan.. They can get every type of imported manufactured product from China.. Along with billions of dollars of belt and road investment funds from China.. But China and it's CCP are not stupid enough to waste good money in socialist dysfunctional shite hole countries like Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea or Eritrea.. Nope they invest in third world countries that are more capitalistic.. Where they can hope to get a more decent return on their investments..

@Adstar it's poor because of the embargo stopping most countries from dealing with Cuba at the threat at not being able to do business with America. That embargo was placed with the absolute intention of destroying cubas economy. The people who castro had killed after the cuban revolution were surviving batista soldiers who were put on trial for their crimes against the Cuban people who were out for blood and wanted those soldiers executed so castro had American soldier Herman marks who had recently joined up with the July 26th movement arrange said execution. Having criminals killed is incredibly different to torturing regular working people because of batistsas paranoia as he knew the working Cuban people were in strong support for castro because of the heavy exploitation of batitstas government which again created mass unemployment

@Adstar cuba is a third world country and the most developed one at that. They are poor but live in houses that are in better conditions than other third world country homes and cubas doctors created a covid vaccine that helped the citizens better than America did

Capitalism as an overbureaucratic system that enables monoplies, establishes power in the hands of a minority Capitalist class, fosters inequality and greed is the perfect breeding ground for corruption.

The culture of a people or the dominate culture of a people plays a huge role in how a nation develops.. North America The Nations USA and Canada predominantly where English based cultures and we see that both nations developed into advanced and wealthy nations..

Now south America was and is just as geologically rich as North America.. A country like Brazil should be a world Super power today and Argentina should be a greater nation then Canada.. But what do we have.. from one stupid extreme to another.. From military ultra right dictators to loony leftist dreamers who leave these nations as disaster zones.. Nor can they tell you why capitalism is rampant in Communism and why the two mix in a communist society and why the government does not discourage those polar opposites from existing side by side.
