He reminds all of us that lies are not an issue with the GOP. They are a desired feature, and the more and better lies they can tell, the better.

@windinhishair They no longer deserve to be known as a political party. They're simply a collection of people who band together with the express purpose of enriching themselves. It's hardly surprising really that they found themselves in thrall to the king of the grifters.

@RodionRomanovitch They have no party platform, no goals and objectives for legislating, and only wish to gum up the legislative process. They are there purely for obstruction. That's not a political party.

@windinhishair Precisely. I had to laugh when I heard Santos tell Tulsi Gabbard (who absolutely savaged him btw) that he wasn't going to allow his little indiscretions to prevent him 'from doing the work of the American people' , as if that is the real motivation for any of these clowns who make up the Republican caucus in the House.

Who the fuck does this guy think he is kidding ?

@RodionRomanovitch He fooled his supporters, who have shown repeatedly that they are easily fooled. And now that even his purported job in under question, the source of his wealth is under scrutiny by the feds for possible criminal activity. Not too many unemployed people can come up with $750,000 to "loan" to their campaign. Well, maybe Donald Trump, but that's because of illegal campaign contributions. Stay tuned. We haven't heard the last on Mr. Santos (if that is indeed his name).

@windinhishair You think he'll be seated ?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@RodionRomanovitch Almost certainly. Kevin McCarthy needs his vote for Speaker. Seating a lying criminal won't faze him at all, as long as he gets Santos' vote.

@windinhishair Which brings us back to the point of the post of the GOP being not only an ideologically bereft party but also one that is almost entirely morally bankrupt.

@RodionRomanovitch They have been for at least a generation, but it is getting worse. The direction of the party was clear from Pat Buchanon's naziesque speech at the 1992 Republican National Convention. I was waiting for the (white) delegates to get up and start Sieg Heiling. Follow that with Newt Gingrich as Speaker, who divorced his wife for a trophy version while she was dying of cancer in the hospital.
@windinhishair And Newt was doing this while going after Clinton for the Lewinsky affair. That’s what was mindblowing.

@bijouxbroussard Neither he nor his supporters saw any irony in that fact at all.
