Unvaxxed 14-Year-Old Rejected By Top Hospital For Lifesaving Surgery

It is affecting the life of a 14-year-old girl who needs a lifesaving kidney transplant – but has been refused medical care by Duke University Hospital because she is unvaccinated.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons is demanding that transplant centers be legally prohibited from “treating an individual as ineligible to donate or receive an organ” or assign “a lower priority to an individual waiting to receive an organ” if that individual has declined to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

So the left-wing nut-job marxist policy is to do what you are told to do or die

So much for the Hippocratic oath!

Yes, what about "The Oath?"
@soar2newhighs When a person gets an organ transplant, is it also true they get massive doses of immunosuppresive drugs?

What do you think all those immunosuppresive drugs do to a body's ability to fight Covid? Once they go on those drugs, do they still have an immune system?? Or is the immune system pretty much shut down??? With a shut down immune system, what is the person's chance of surviving Covid????
@ElwoodBlueseither she gets the Covid or she does not, but not all physicians might feel that way as these doctors do.
Who can say, if she gets the Covid injection, how it will affect her.
That said, she is a minor and her parents will decide the route that needs to be taken.
@soar2newhighs So, in this context, The Oath might say don't administer all those immunosuppresive drugs. And if you can't adminster all those immunosuppresive drugs, you can't do the transplant.

My point is that including all those immunosuppresive drugs in the story alters the story in a big way.

@ElwoodBlues Everybody wears a mask, problem fixed, right?
@ElwoodBlues “ Do no harm…” will this child be harmed with or without the vaccine?
Like I said, the decision because she is a minor rests with the parents.
@soar2newhighs Actually, Hippocrates never heard of transplants, and doctors have had to create more rules for allocating scarce organs. Part of it is you get a place in line, and part of it is the transplant being likely to succeed. My guess is the people putting themselves unnecessarily at risk for Covid while on immunosuppresives rate as less likely to succeed.

Here's what the UCSF med center says:
I'm on the transplant waiting list. Should I get the vaccine?

Yes, it is strongly recommended all patients on the transplant list be fully vaccinated prior to transplantation. Once a person is immunosuppressed at the time of transplant, response to a vaccine will be less robust than before.
And another:
The University of Maryland Medical Center understands that transplant patients — both those already transplanted and those awaiting one — have specific questions related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

We compiled your questions and our experts answer them.

Should transplant patients get vaccinated?

Yes. We encourage transplant recipients to get the COVID-19 vaccine when possible.
There are plenty more identical recommendations out there. In fact, I doubt you can find a SINGLE transplant doctor who recommends against the Covid vaccines.

@ElwoodBlues Especially on little girls, right?

@sunsporter1649 I'm sure she's a wonderful child!

AND, ... if she follows the doctors' orders then she gets her transplant!!

You've heard of doctors' orders, right? Or is that a new concept for you???
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues You go follow dr. faucis orders all you like
@sunsporter1649 When you're looking to get a transplant, don't you think you should follow the transplant doctor's orders?

Oh, wait, sporty knows more about immune responses than the transplant doctors who regularly prescribe immunosuppressive drugs. RIIIIIIGHT

Calling Doctor sporty, calling Doctor sporty...

Your transplant recipient patient is presenting swollen extremities and elevated white blood counts. They're taking methylprednisolone. What do you recommend???
