Unvaxxed 14-Year-Old Rejected By Top Hospital For Lifesaving Surgery

It is affecting the life of a 14-year-old girl who needs a lifesaving kidney transplant – but has been refused medical care by Duke University Hospital because she is unvaccinated.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons is demanding that transplant centers be legally prohibited from “treating an individual as ineligible to donate or receive an organ” or assign “a lower priority to an individual waiting to receive an organ” if that individual has declined to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

So the left-wing nut-job marxist policy is to do what you are told to do or die

I'm speechless

@HoraceGreenley If there's a single liver available, and two potential recipients: one with liver failure and another with liver failure and leukemia, who do you think will get it?

Here it's the same thing. Whoever has higher chances of survival is prioritized first because replacement organs don't rain from the sky.

COVID vaccines whether the right wants to admit or not, significantly boost one's chances of survival.

@Elessar I think weve learned that the vaccines are not that effective.

Also given the available information we don't know what other potential recipients are available.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@HoraceGreenley No, we haven't; or better that's the losers' narrative after they've lost any and every debate they've attempted in order to divide the people on COVID.

The condition for the vaccines to be approved, established before any vaccine rollout happened, was >50% effectiveness against symptomatic disease. The currently approved mRNA vaccines provide respectively 94% and 92% against the initial variant they were tested for. And even now against Omicron, the percentage is well above 50%, especially for the adapted boosters.

Above all, the most tangible difference is that COVID no longer looks like this ever since mass-vaccination was implemented:

@Elessar the virus has mutated
Elessar · 26-30, M
@HoraceGreenley As predicted. That doesn't change anything. China is still wielding its own citizens in houses, and they have the mutated virus as well. What they don't have is western vaccines.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Elessar China is a totalitarian state that sacrifices the life of its own citizens regularly
Elessar · 26-30, M
@HoraceGreenley Which wouldn't waste money nor risk internal conflict if there wasn't a reason to, let alone the economic repercussions. It's safe to assume that, with subpar vaccines, COVID is still bad enough to prefer draconian measures over the consequential damage (hospitals full, entire workplaces closing down) it's well known to cause.

@Elessar What?
