Republicans Snubbed By Recipients Of Congressional Gold Medals

Earlier today there was a ceremony to present Congressional Gold Medals to honor those who defended the Capitol along with family members of fallen officers.

They refused to shake hands with McConnell and McCarthy. They did shake the hand of Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

Looks to me that as they were being honored they chose to honor the nation as well.

@samueltyler2 I don't even know what a Republican is any more. I do know it has nothing to do with policy or trying to make lives better.

@Ynotisay I remember voting, as a registered independent, at times, for a republican. That party doesn't seem to exist anymore. I feel as if we are on a slippery slope to become both a theocracy, and a nation led by a minority who believes they are victims.

@samueltyler2 No, it’s the MAGA/Trump party wholesale. It’s just a myth that there are scores of reasonable Republicans who are distraught about where their party is at.

@samueltyler2 Yep. I think you hit with the "victim" thing. That's what people are fed because fear sells. "Us vs. Them" is the best way to keep people down, hateful and ignorant. It's how you get them to vote against their own best interest. It's been systematic. Toss in the internet and we are where we are. There were always guardrails in the form of honor, integrity and fairness. That's been wiped away.
