I don't particularly care for conservatives, but I utterly detest leftists

Leftists on the North American front, anyway. Conservatives may be ignorant as hell, but at least I share common goals with them. We have different ideas on how to achieve those goals, but we're after the same thing, nonetheless! Leftists, however, we share little to no common ground in the grand scheme of things. Especially where free speech is concerned... The radical left will implode on itself eventually like it always does, but it would be nice to see more actual liberals disavow them rather than believing they're on their side just because they oppose conservatism. 😒

It's crazy how the free speech has shifted sides. It used to be that conservatives didn't want anything that went against morality to be legally said and now the progressives don't want you to say anything that doesn't fit into their box of all inclusiveness.

@Lostpoet I am referring to the thread, alluding to conservatives' championing of free speech, when in fact they are banning schools books, because they don't fit their historical narrative, and "moral" norms.

But it's not the OP presented a fleshed-out case.

I really don't know what this means. Woke is a term used to push a narrative, that's only defined as: whatever I can push as a narrative to get positive attention from those who don't understand what it means.

For instance, DeSantis' campaign against "woke" financial institutions, because banks are "woke".

@Northwest No, it isn't. I mentioned free speech in my post just as an example of something I strongly disagree with leftists on, but that isn't the main subject of this post. You can just admit you made a mistake, you know? That you either jumped to conclusions or misinterpreted what I said...

I think everyone should be able to say and express themselves no matter what. But i also think there's some racist, sexist, religion fanatic, a**holes out there that feel like they have the right to punish people that don't think like they do.

I never saw a conflict between being open-minded and moral. It's a narrative the MAGAs put forth, nothing more.

It's important for people to be able to freely express themselves, but it's also important to call them on their racism, or otherwise offensive speech. I hear a lot of complaints about "cancel culture", but it's usually from parties that have no idea how it feels to be the butt of jokes, or bullying.
