hippyjoe1955 Your last point is natural. If you are someone who is concerned about getting Covid, you avoid those who do not get vaccinated or do not social distance, wear masks, etc. If you are someone who does not care if they catch Covid, it does not matter who you hang out with. I expect that behavior. Personally, nearly everyone in my circle is vaccinated, and the most serious health issue that any has had from the vaccine is feeling tired and missing a day of work. As for the Covid deaths - one was prior to the vaccine being released, the second was a co-worker and I do not know it he had been vaccinated or not. I personally know a few covid "long haulers" who have had lingering and serious health issues as a result of covid that they caught before the vaccine was available. Personally, I disagree with vaccine mandates for illnesses like this that have a high survival rate. I also disagree with mask mandates for private businesses. There are enough options for people who do not want to risk going in public, such as e-services and home delivery. The reality is, if you are compromised enough that catching Covid is a big risk, you probably already protect yourself when Flu or RSV numbers are high. Really it is about protecting the health care system.
