The GOP, in this most recent midterm elections, hit all the hot-button topics: Crime, inflation, recession, immigration, constitutionality...

And what's their agenda this week? House Republicans are promising aggressive oversight of the Biden administration once they assume the majority next year, with a particular focus on the business dealings of presidential son Hunter Biden, illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border and the originations of COVID-19.

If you asked GOP leaders what their economic plan is...they can't.

@PTCdresser57 You could apply that to most any issue that needs addressing. They're not 'for' anything. They're not about "solutions." They're about tearing things down. Like Democracy.

@PTCdresser57 their only economic plan ever is "we must cut taxes on corporations and the wealthy, cut regulations, cut the minimum wage!"

Even if taxes and regulations were at zero, this would still be their mindless babble snake oil mantra

One reason I don't vote GOP much anymore. The whine about stuff, but never do anything even when they have the opportunity with the presidency and both houses of congress in their control. Health care is a good example. For years they did nothing about health care costs, only small gestures. Democrats came in and did something. It may not be exactly what I wanted, but they did something. GOP comes in with complete control under trump, and their priority seemed to be a tax cut and stacking the SC against Roe vs Wade. No better health care plan, no infrastructure funding, nothing. They couldn't even get a fucking border wall built - the thing they have been crowing about for decades. And they turn around and blame democrats for obstructing them...

@trollslayer Trump put a huge stop in illegal immigration and restarted building the wall. If he accomplished nothing else he had the opportunity to nominate great Supreme Court Justices who in turn were able to overturn Roe v Wade.

@missyann He violated the US Constitution in doing so, we now have thousands of orphans in the country and his "fence" was an abysmal failure...all 6 miles of it.

And welcome to 1 million unwanted and unexpected 'abortion' children per year for the foreseeable future - in addition to those already being born at a record-setting rate. Abortion's only down a whopping...6% anyway as a result of your witch burning. And you guys, with your withholding funds, cancelling programs and lack of interest. Should be just the hellspace you've all been predicting. Well done.

Well, they won't be able to pass any legislation other than naming Post Offices, so they have to do something. The National Review had an interesting take on how the Republicans can avoid a clown show. If all Hunter Biden did was scam the Chinese, that might be unethical, but it's not illegal, so if that's all the "laptop investigation" comes up with, it will be a waste of time. Same for performative impeachments of Biden or cabinet members like Mayorkas or Walsh, for some reason.

At least 2 years of wasted time and a build up of GOP propaganda to use for 2024 and beyond. Sickening

Democrats destroyed this country -- we are past the point of no return

@scrood Funny. Every time you mention the right to hate, the right to discriminate, the right to carry a semi-automatic, the right to shout whatever rant comes into your head, it's that 300 year old document you rely so hard on.

Good for the goose, good for the gander.

[and when you type something like "Trump 2024," all people read is, "I'm a racists ignorant fool."]

It may be hard to believe, but just because that is what they are focusing on this week doesn't mean they won't be working on inflation, crime, etc down the road.

Perhaps they prefer to wait until the new class of Congresspeople are seated before they start that?

I mean if you really want to get pedantic you could say these things fall into Crime, illegal immigration and constitutionality so technically they are focusing on what they said they would. 😏

And Joe Stupid’s side hustle of pimping his idiot son to foreign aid recipients to split bribes with him.
ron122 · 41-45, M
Sleepy Joe should be nervous. "The Big Guy"
All their attention will be on the Bidens or the Jan 6 commission and they still won't address any of the issues that got them elected. Economy, whatever, Border, whatever ...
Real life and capitalism are definitely at war.

Good !!!about time!

The origins of Covid ... not the future, but the past ... but then the GOP has always lived in the past so this is at least consistent 🤦‍♀️
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
@SW-User really, it’s literally saying nothing. Trump was in charge, so are they saying he invented it? Or, is it because some conservative religious fanatics didn’t attend bible study??
SW-User
@BackyardShaman oh they will always have an excuse for Trump no matter what the issue at hand is ... I'm sure they'll says something like "it was the Deep State Faucists working with China to undermine the best president in history!"

@SW-User I think you nailed it
