Secession, why or why not

Either yay or nay. Different scenarios of what the US would look like there was a secession. Do you think it would be a good move ? Why or why not

Red America is about 30% of US economic productivity; Blue America is 70%. Red America would never survive without the massive subsidies in government spending that they receive.
