Secession, why or why not
Either yay or nay. Different scenarios of what the US would look like there was a secession. Do you think it would be a good move ? Why or why not

I'm in California and there's been real talk of what secession might look like. Cascadia is another movement with western states. Hell, the county I live in had a ballot measure to secede. It was stupid and driven by right wing extremists. Whatever. Currently it's illegal and I'm not sure what it would take for that to change.
But my understanding is that something like 30 to 40 percent of citizens would approve of a secession by their state. Personally, I'd love to live in the country of California. We have the fifth largest economy in the world and could conceivably fund ourselves. But that's an emotional decision. I think you could figure out things like cross border trading but the military component might be the trickiest. And if it were to happen it could only take place in a state or states with the revenue to make it work. I could see, way down the road, CA, OR and WA seceding. Possibly in conjunction with British Columbia which has shown support for it as well. But before that I see States drawing even bigger lines in the sand about how they run their own show.
