SCOTUS Orders Trump Tax Records Released

The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the handover of former President Trump’s tax returns to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Last month, Chief Justice John Roberts granted a stay, temporarily blocking the former president from having to turn over his tax records to Democrats on the committee.

Trump and his legal team had filed asking the Supreme Court to block the release of his tax records.

[@samueltyler2 ] The House Ways And Means Committee (https://waysandmeans.house.gov/subcommittees/ways-and-means-117th-congress), asked for Trump's tax records, as part of an investigation they were conducting. Trump said no. The committee got a court ordered compelling the IRS to hand the records over, Trump appealed to SCOTUS, and Chief Justice Roberts put a hold on that order, until SCOTUS could deliberate it. The did, and delivered their ruling today: the IRS will turn the records over to the House Ways and Means Committee, which has several Republicans on it.

Fox News said SCOTUS orders records released to Democrats on the committee. Which is a lie, but that's what their readers will now believe.=
