This election was the best thing that could happen to Republicans

1) Winning back the House enables Repulicans to block Biden's catastrophic big brother legislation as well as to set some of the legislative agenda. It also allows for hearings on some of the misdeeds of the current administration.

2) When the shit hits the fan over the Biden policies the Democrats won't be able to blame a Republican congress. The Republicans were not the "dog that caught the car".

3) Trump was seriously damaged. The Trump mystique, to the extent it still existed, may now be gone. This will allow serious Republican candidates to emerge and compete using conservative ideas to bring our society back to sanity.

Happy trolling! 😋

And so for 2 more years, nothing happens in America.. I am not taking a side here. But nothing at a time like this is the worst thing for the nation and its people...😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Worse than totalitarianism?

@irishmolly72 In a storm a ship without a rudder is lost.. Right now America is fighting itself and consuming itself. And Americas non friends are circling..There will be nothing left for either side once the feeding frenzy is finished.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman The Founding Fathers designed our government to do just this. I'll take gridlock over Mao, Pol Pot or Pinochet. How about you?

@irishmolly72 OK. You recognise and accept the situation and express a viewpoint. I can respect that. And my point is that back in the time of the founding fathers what you describe was a sound approach.. But they never foresaw the speed and complexity of communications between governments, or the way information would get to the people as it does now. Now a nation needs to be nimble, and the voters can be across a subject in minutes, not years. I refrain from commenting on your comparisons. They can just as easily be pushed on both sides.😷
@irishmolly72 you’re using the argument that anti democratic governments use.

They claim democracies are no good because it takes too long to get things done.
Authoritarian regimes can adapt in a nanosecond to changing events., economic conditions etc.

So the choice is give up on democracy or work put people in power that aren’t radical ideologues

@Ryderbike Well it is the Republican position to make sure that "the Right People" are in the right positions, to be sure of the right outcome.. Like the Supreme Court..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman a house build on a foundation of rot won’t stand for long

@Ryderbike I agree. Money has taken corruption into both parties. But the right is its natural home. Luckily for the Democrats, Fox turning their back on Trump will still leave him with 10-15% of the Republican vote. Enouch to trash the Republicans chances of anything..😷

@Ryderbike Your efforts were nothing short of heroic.
