Yeah, and Dewey was supposed to beat Truman in a landslide. The majority of American people are smarter and more decent than people expect when the chips are on the table. Too lazy to make it to the polls until there are existential threats, so when they finally do show up at the polls the MAGA crowd and their past ilk can scream "fraud".
Reminds me of the priest who droned on and on at the funeral mass for my Great Aunt & Godmother, little of it relevant because he didn't know her, and probably sorry for her because of the light turn out at the church in town. He then joined the cortege to the little mountain cemetery for the graveside internment, and a couple of miles out from the cemetery the lines of parked cars began and he said "Where did all these people come from?" as if they were aliens. They live here, he was told. Did you think all the livestock on these ranches took care of themselves?
