Smartest president this millennium.

Here is a FACT that people on all political sides should agree on: Obama was the most intelligent president so far this millennium. Whether you support him or not, Biden is a bumbling idiot. We all know George W Bush was in the same category. And whether you like him or not, Trump has no idea what he is talking about. So whether you like him or not Obama is clearly the most intelligent president the USA has had so far this millennium. He's the only one that can give an intelligent speech that stays on point.

He is a very articulate and good speaker. We were fortunate to have him as a president.

Started us on the road to socialism
I think FDR started us on "the road to socialism" by creating Social Security. And few did more to strengthen Social Security than Ronald Reagan. Also, Eisenhower's interstate highway system, built by federal tax dollars, is socialism.

Another big socialist program we have that LONG predates Obama is agricultural supports. We've had price supports for wheat, corn, cotton, tobacco, rice, peanuts, and other commodities. We've paid farmers to NOT grow crops. We give farmers loan guarantees, subsidized loans, etc, etc.

I'm not saying I'm for or against any of this agricultural socialism; I'm just saying it HUGE and it long predates Obama.

@Strictgram Obama improved the economy from the shambles the Republicans and Bush left the nation in. Cutting the annual budget deficit by 2/3 and the unemployment rate to under 4%, he left a good economy for Trump to take credit for, which he did. Of course, what Trump left us was far worse than he inherited from Obama, so we elected a Democrat to clean up Trump's mess just as Obama cleaned up Bush's. That's what Democratic Presidents do--clean up the messes their Republican predecessors leave.

You're welcome.

@windinhishair You're usual total bogus nonsense. Your nose grows longer with every foolish statement you make.

@Strictgram That's all factual, and the data are easily accessible and verifiable, which is why you won't look at them and will continue to deny reality. Besides, you're too busy beating children for pleasure.

@windinhishair I think any "good economy" we have seen in the past 20 years is a mirage. A "bubble" is not a good economy. Nor are soaring stock prices. The past 20 years we have had a few people make a lot of money without providing or creating anything of value. People are crowing about inflation and gas prices, but the real inflation the past few years has been housing costs. Think about it. The apartment I rented 20 years ago for $450 per month now rents for $1500. Same apartment. Same building. Same amenities. What costs for the property owner have increased 3x over the past 20 years?

@trollslayer Wages have not kept up with inflation in the past 30 or 40 years. Income is becoming more stratified over time, not less, and we currently have the biggest disparity between high incomes and low incomes in the past 100 years. Unless we have some major changes, many young people today will never own homes during their lifetimes. Income disparity is actually at the crux of many of the political problems we have right now.

@windinhishair Agreed. I read somewhere that to afford housing in my city now household income needs to be over $100k per year. I see that expense as the biggest driver of inflation, much more than gasoline, or COVID stimulus money.

@trollslayer It definitely has a huge impact, and that statistic is shocking but not surprising.
