Voter Fraud

What is " wrong " with asking everyone to provide a picture ID to vote ? We are a smart nation I'm certain that we can come up with a mobil ID machine. There are codes that can be used to identify what kind of ID it is. Only a picture, or driving, an immigrant not yet a citizen but in this country legal, public assistance only ect...

In order to be done without accusing one party of cheating, sadly theres going to have to be a representative from both parties be present when the picture are taken and signed off on. Thats just the way it is now, no use in complaining. I know that there are enough people on both sides who want to volunteer to help with elections that are willing to represent their party. To oppose some type of a solution only makes it look like you want non citizens to vote.

I know that there are poor people without assistance or home bound where the mobil ID can go to their homes. There are county buses who take people to Drs appointments even disabled people. There can be county buses that can take them for other assistance.. Has anyone without an ID ever been to a Drs appointment, grocery store, bought alcohol, cigarettes or gotten a controlled prescription ? If yes, then it means that getting an ID is possible. Yes it will cost states and counties more money but I personally have NO PROBLEM having my tax money going for something like this. ANYTHING to shut the f××× fighting the hell up.

The excuses against voter ID are ridiculous. The left loves to drop the race card, implying some people of color are unable to get one. Which is racist in and of itself. No adult can function in society today without a photo ID. Some states require an ID to vote. That needs to be nationwide.

@BizSuitStacy Absolutely this is exactly what I am saying. There is a way to ensure that EVERY legal citizen has an ID to vote legally in this country. NO ONE is going to admit that they are wrong. Lets end this

@BizSuitStacy Yeah, it's totally racist to point out that racist state governments deliberately sabotage the ability of minorities to get IDs. How dare we!

@OggggO Thanks for the laughs 🤡

@OggggO If every one can get a picture ID what is the problem. It DOESN'T matter what anyone says or what they believe happened. Why not just ensure that every legal citizen has one?
OggggO · 36-40, M
@missyann The problem is not everyone can get a picture ID, thanks to deliberate efforts to make it very hard on minorities.
@missyann He's forgetting two important details. People can't survive without oxygen, and can't function in society without an ID.
missyann · 56-60
@OggggO How would the solution I mentioned make it hard on minorities ? The mobil machine is going anywhere they are. Anywhere it is needed to ensure that everyone has one
OggggO · 36-40, M
@BizSuitStacy And you're forgetting disenfranchisement like this was so bad that there had to be an entire section of the Voting Rights Act to put a stop to it, a section that has since been effectively nullified by partisans on the Supreme Court. No prizes for guessing what happened immediately afterward.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@missyann Because the same states that close down DMVs to keep minorities from getting ID will have absolutely no problem making sure those buses don't reach them either.
@OggggO Been hearing that bs for more than 40 years. Guess what? Polls are showing 21% of African Americans and 40% of Hispanics are voting republican. Real numbers are likely higher. Oops. Thanks for playing.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@BizSuitStacy Nice non sequitur.
@OggggO way to deflect
OggggO · 36-40, M
@BizSuitStacy I'm not deflecting, you made a completely irrelevant argument as if it addressed the topic at hand.
@OggggO The very groups you claim are ID suppressed by republicans are voting for republicans in greater numbers than ever before. Irrelevant? Keep deflecting.
But we'll give you a chance to let it marinate. It sinks in eventually...even for those of you with spongiform encephalitis.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@BizSuitStacy I said they were ID suppressed by racists. I do appreciate the tacit admission that the GOP is racist, but that's not really the point. Racists don't care which party minorities vote for, they don't want them voting at all.
@OggggO You misspelled racist:
D E M O C R A T
missyann · 56-60
@OggggO Gop are racist because they want all legal citizens to have IDs? They say liberals want to cheat because they don't. Why not make it possible for everyone to have one. No matter what either side thinks?
OggggO · 36-40, M
@missyann
Gop are racist because they want all legal citizens to have IDs?
They very much do not want all citizens to have IDs. I provided multiple sources testifying to that.
@BizSuitStacy They can’t even get food stamps and welfare without ID…
@NoGamesTolerated Absolutely
missyann · 56-60
@OggggO As long as they are LEGAL theres nothing they can do to stop it
OggggO · 36-40, M
@missyann Except closing down ID issuing centers in places where people they don't want to have IDs live, or putting special hoops to jump through to get those IDs that disproportionately impact the people they don't want having IDs.

The left loves to drop the race card, implying some people of color are unable to get one. Which is racist in and of itself.
It’s not that they can’t get one, it’s just that it’s another hassle to overcome in a country where voting is already highly inconvenient, as evidenced by our low participation rates. Lots of people already have to take off work and not get paid, find a ride to the polls, depending where your precinct is and what time you show up you might have to wait in line a few hours. Then on top of that you want to add the burden of providing an ID? Let’s look at Texas. It’s the second biggest state in the union by area. Some places in rural Texas are hundreds of miles away from the nearest DMV where they would have to go to obtain an ID. Again they have to take off work, find a ride, pay for their ride, wait in line forever once they get there. Can you not see how this would be difficult for someone who’s poor? And in a winner-take-all system like ours, what’s the chance that your one vote is going to tip the scales one way or the other anyway? So why bother?

So it’s not that they can’t get an ID, it’s that it’s potentially a lot of trouble to get one. Enough trouble that a lot of people will just give up and decide not to vote rather than put themselves through all that.

Fortunately, I feel like this is a rare issue these days in which compromise is quite feasible. I mean you look at climate change where one side thinks it’s necessary to cut pollution to save the planet and the other side thinks it’s a hoax, or abortion where one side thinks women’s most personal rights are being violated and the other side thinks it’s murder, how can there be any compromise on those issues? But when it comes to voting if one side wants to make it harder to vote in some way, then it seems to me right and fair that it should come with a provision that makes it easier to vote in another way.

You want national voter ID? I don’t see why we can’t get that done if we can also make Election Day a national holiday. That’ll make it harder to vote fraudulently but it will also remove a major obstacle to voting fairly.

However, I’m not holding my breath that such a compromise might happen, because, however noble your personal intentions might be, I know the GOP in general is not really interested in securing elections. “Securing elections” is, for the vast majority of the party, a dog whistle for “stop poor and colored people from voting!”
