Lead poisoning and the GOP.

I posted this earlier on another thread, and also as a joke a few times, but seriously...

People that shoot guns have higher lead exposures than those that don't. This is a known fact that you are welcome to look up.

Lead exposure has been linked to all kinds of health problems, including neurological disorders. Some studies have correlated lead exposure from gasoline to violent crime. That is up for debate, but the correlations are very interesting.

Because Republicans, especially far right republicans, tend to be avid gun enthusiasts more than the country as a whole, one could hypothesize that far-right republicans have had more lead exposure in their lives than those on the left.

Lead exposure is linked to delirium and hallucinations.

Serious question: Is it possible the wacky conspiracy theories that are rampant on the right these days are a result of lead poisoning?

I actually really hope that's not the reason they're so stupid. With America sliding into Fascism, I think it's important that people buy guns to defend themselves. I don't know, maybe wear a mask when you're firing.

It does make sense, though. And I'm open to reading studies on the issue.

And really, I'm a Socialist. I obviously don't go along with the mainstream, or I'd be a Liberal or a Conservative. Those are the only two mainstream political beliefs in America.

That's the number one symptom of an indoctrinated American. The ability to only believe either/or statements. No nuance, no substance, no detail, just Us/Them tribalism.

This is a dead end and I am disappointed, but not surprised to see the younger generations falling for it as well.

Tribalism would be saying the party I vote for is the best on all the issues. This is just more projection on your part.

Now if I had that for the Democrats, I'd be saying I vote for them because they're AWESOME and I'd defend them religiously.
But instead, I'm saying that I only vote Democrat because they're the lesser evil. They suck, but Liberalism sucks less than Fascism. I disagree with the Democrats on most individual issues too, but their stances on those issues are still better than the Republican stance.
A real tribalist wouldn't say they vote for the lesser evil.

I mean, do I even need to go into this one? Democrats and Republicans are both Capitalists. Of course they're not total opposites. But again, liberal Capitalism is better than fascist Capitalism.
