I don't have to read that.
The US imports crude oil, the crude oil is refined into all the petroleum products we use as consumers. Heating oil is one of those products. That imported crude oil is also refined into other petroleum products that are exported to Canada and Mexico. The US could easily curb back production of exported petroleum products and produce more heating oil for the US.

@calicuz If that is the case, then why aren't they doing it? 😢 I live in the northeastern states, and I have a friend who will freeze to death in his mobile home if they ration heating oi and double the price.

@calicuz Understanding it won't stop my poor friend from freezing half to death. He lives within his limited income, come hell or high water, and he will probably refuse to pay double the price, and will really suffer!

Honestly, it's because our leaders value profits over people's livelihood and lives.
They value the Oil Tycoons more than the average hard working American.
They say our vote counts, but after that vote is cast, they leave us to our on devices when hardships hit our homes.

Well, sounds like all they need to do is stop exporting those goods, including the decent jobs, to Russia and crush Russia financially and the war will be over.
Because if the Ukraine were actually producing all those goods, they could afford the arms they need to fight and win the war and have no need for the help of the UN or US.
