It is great that Britain has a person of colour as Prime Minister.

I don't like Rishi Sunak's politics at all but the fact that his ethnicity wasn't a barrier to him getting to the top is a good thing. I can't think of any major European country that has ever had a non-white leader. If you can, let me know in the comments.

Rishi Sunak’s rise to PM shows that racism is no longer an issue in the modern Conservative Party as long as you’re incredibly rich and well connected, and as long as you don’t ask the actual party members.

On a brighter note ;

Sunak will also aim to reset relations with EU. There's simply no way a former FinMin will sign off on a trade war with EU - no matter how many headbangers on the Right try to convince him otherwise.

Am also sceptical he will repeal EU laws as part of an ideological crusade (as @trussliz promised) but to judge them on what is best for British business.

I also understand Sunak will attempt to invest in the relationship with @EmmanuelMacron - in the hope that co-operation will finally produce a solution to the problem of migrants crossing the English Channel in small boats.

Cold but maybe true. LOL.
