House of Cards was based on a British show...

... and not without reason. UK politicians love plotting, manipulating and manoeuvring. After Jeremy Hunt's anti-Truss budget (he was virtually smirking as he removed her entire policy agenda whilst standing next to her) Suela Braverman has now resigned as a minister. The objective here is to create as much chaos as possible to undermine Liz Truss's failing premiership. A storm of negative headlines and an unworkable government would mean that Truss faces a move against her by Conservative MPs and/or is forced to resign.

The person most likely to benefit is Rishi Sunak, Truss's rival for the top job. The man is keeping strangely quiet and out of the headlines.

Now I am not saying that Sunak and other Truss rivals have met in smoke-filled rooms to orchestrate a planned sabotage of Truss. I am not saying that he (or someone similar) has hatched a deal with Hunt and Braverman to get rid of Truss. I am not saying that they will definitely get top jobs in the next Conservative government. If they do, it will be sheer coincidence.

Or not...
