Your tax dollars at work

Trump Org charged Secret Service $1.4M to stay at his properties during his time on the playground. The Trump Organization on some occasions charged the Secret Service more than five times the government rate to stay at Donald Trump-owned properties while the agency was protecting him and his family, according to documents obtained by Congress.

Now, why don't I see bumper stickers all over the place for that accomplishment?

Every company doing business with local,State and federal governments charge excessive rates because governments are what we call slow pay. The job i am on right now my contract actually doubles if not paid within 30 days..
Back to your statement..secret service paid less than the salary he donated back to the government

@Graylight So true, and we never had a problems with letting the wing nuts play in the village. They could be quite amusing trying to play grownup. 🤣

And, on the serious side... I can still remember the awe inspiring sight, sound, and ground shaking arrival of those angels (crazy, and I do mean crazy pilots) running air cover for us ground pounders. It didn't matter what impossible air maneuvers they had to pull off to give us cover or get us out of trouble, they did it and did it and did it again until they got it done. You are right, it does take a village.

@Ontheroad That it does. You hope your most specialized services are never needed, but than they are, the US will not be divided.

Not as long as we have you guys to do our heavy lifting. 😉 Be safe and keep tilting at the windmill here. It's fruitless but noble work.

@MarineBob That sounds a pretty lucrative contract. We don't get our invoices paid very quickly by public corporations, but we also consider this to be low risk and acceptable because they legally cannot declare themselves insolvent, stow away our cash in an overseas tax haven, or decide to break a contract as part of an elaborate business strategy (all of which has happened to my company in the past year).
Why was he taking his security staff to his own businesses anyway? Isn't that conflict of interest even at regular rates?
OggggO · 36-40, M
@NerdyPotato What was he supposed to do, take his numerous vacation at locations where he didn't profit from them?
@OggggO it's a rather unconventional concept for a con man to pass an opportunity to make money, but yes, that would have worked for a president. 😁
Graylight · 51-55, F
@NerdyPotato It is. In fact, it's been deemed unconstitutional from right back into Washington's days in office, but these days we don't decide and act; we discuss.

When are you going to let your Trump fixation go? Even if he goes to jail, you'll still be fixated on him. Wtf. Let it go! 🤔🤷‍♀️🙅‍♀️
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Montanaman Well, it's a funny thing, right?

When Dahmer was on trial, the nation was transfixed. Sme with Simpson, same with Madoff, same with Clinton. Suddenly the man with the most legal trouble in America should be ignored?

It's not the audience, it's the clown.
Montanaman · M
@Graylight Ha, that's fair. 👍😄🤪🤗

His enemies conducted the review. I’m more than suspicious
OggggO · 36-40, M
@NatureGuy77 Did "his enemies" also file these requests for money to pay ridiculous hotel bills, posing as Secret Service agents??

@NatureGuy77 The House Oversight Committee?

Trump has no enemies, he's not worthy. He only has people who know how to act like humans who are now calling him to account for his actions.
@NatureGuy77 So you're saying the Secret Service lied on their records about what they paid Trump for hotel rooms?

Or are you saying House Oversight Committee lied about what was in the Secret Service records?

BTW, if an enemy of Joe Biden says something critical about Biden, do you reject it on the grounds that it was said by an enemy? Just how broadly does this "reject data from enemies" thing apply??
