The current state of the economy is ELECTION YEAR CORPORATE VOTER INTIMIDATION
I work in the trucking industry where Wall Street truckload carriers and Wall Street 3rd party logistics brokerages do this every election year to small trucking businesses and owner operator truck drivers with market manipulation of freight rates while gouging ports warehouses and manufacturers on shipping rates and lowballing small trucking businesses into rates to cost of operating ratio that bankrupt owner operator truck drivers. It's why CH Robinson and Total Quality Logistics (TQL) have reported record high profits thay have proportionally beat big oil companies and has done so at the expense of small trucking businesses snd owner operator truckers going under. It happened with gas prices in 2000, 2008, and 2012. It has been happening every election year to small trucking businesses for over 20 years.
This year the oligarchs are more concentrated then ever and they see the trend of non corporatists like AOC winning by landslides. Less corporatist but still corporatist oligarchs like Joe Manchin and even Biden type democrats winning by narrow margins and see the less and less corporatist voter base as a threat. It's why there is a push of banning books. It's why they are at war on history so called critical race theory.
Unlike most mid terms they have triple down on election year corporate voter intimidation have taken it beyond price gouging, but mass supply chain mismanagement.
